“Very Enjoyable”

Overall, the trip was very enjoyable. The ship was beautiful, the crew very passenger-focused and knowledgeable, and all other passengers were extremely nice and fun.

Accommodations Review

The ship is only 7 months old and is beautiful. The rooms were spacious. We have never had so much storage space on a ship before! By far the most overall features we have experienced before.

Meals Review

There was great variety of food for each meal on the buffet. And they have a separate small steakhouse restaurant on the 8th level for a special sit down experience. Very nice. The only thing I would suggest to improve would be keeping things warmer on the buffet but that is a ongoing challenge with any buffet. They had a wonderful barbeque lunch for us one day. Fabulous food and a fun time for all.

Itinerary Review

[We most enjoyed]…Grimsey Island – hiking to the Arctic Circle, seeing puffins, and zodiacing in front of amazing cliffs. Westman Islands – hiking to the top of the volcano (erupted in 1963), and going to the museum, Snaefellsnes Peninsula and the Western Fjords – more puffins, hikes, and waterfalls!! [We least enjoyed]…Djupavik and Holmavik on one day, Hjalteyri on another. For the effort it took to disembark to see very minor things, it was frustrating. Do not get me going about the Sorcery Museum! Horrible.

Crew & Guides Review

John was the Lead. He was very welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable.  Key guides we connected with were Dot, Heather, Dani, and Snowy. Each had an area of expertise which they shared with great passion.

Fellow Passengers Review

The other passengers on the ship were very like minded in activities, desire to learn/experience, and have overall fun. Not surprisingly, lots were Aussies.

AdventureSmith Explorations Review

Taylor was great and responded quickly.

Traveler Advice

Pack accordingly! Layers, rain gear and good hiking boots. We did fine but others did not. I would probably not rec spending the extra $$ for kayaking. Due to weather, the group (of 4) went out only twice.
